Queen of Pastel hair Lou Teasdale and DIY Pastel dip dye

Helloo my lovers.

I am a huge fan of pastel colours as of lately after spotting some very lovely photo’s of Lou Teasdale rocking some pastel colours as of late. Lou is the ambassador for fudge urban and just a fabulous Beauty guru so check out her blog here www.Louteasdale.com

Lilac Hair

I may have a mild obsession with the colour lilac … I LOVE IT. After a trip to my hairdresser and having lilac put in my hair it faded quite quickly and I saw Lou’s post about using Fudge’s paintbox colour purple haze and whiter shade of pale, by mixing these two together i would get a great pastel shade.

My Experience – It was very easy to use and mix, remember to use a mixing brush as it is much easier to apply to all of my hair and wrapped it in cling film. After being being left to develop for 20 minutes i then washed it out. My main mistake when using this product was my hair at the time was highlighted blonde, so i still had dark blonde tones in my hair resulting in only platnium blonde being dyed purple. It looked like i had purple highlights in my hair and not so much a pastel colour either. After a few washes however it did fade to a pastel colour. Six weeks later the colour had faded into a pastel blue colour.

Conclusion – Very easy to use but to be used of platinum all over blonde hair and it would look great and it would work even better for dip dye effect on the tips of your hair.. It is a very strong dye as my regular trip tot he hairdresser found after it took several attempts to get rid of the blue tinge to my hair, even with strong bleach.

Peach Dip Dye

After my lilac stage i decided to Lighten my hair and go for Peach dip dye. My hairdresser didi a fabulous job and advised me to buy a dye and fill a bottle half with the colour and half with conditioner to keep my colour topped up, as the pastel colours do fade fast.

My Experience- After spotting another post by the guru that is Lou Teasdale I decided to to try Bleach London super cool colours.

I chose to use the colour Rose and I apply it mixed with Aussie 3 minute Miracle colour matte conditioner  to the ends of my hair and left it on for 5 minutes before washing out. Even though it is a different colour to the peach tips which I started with I do love this colour that i currently have and it is still going strong after 6 weeks by topping up my ends using this dye and because I am mixing it with conditioner it is not a strong dye and has the lovely pastel peachy pink colour.

Conclusion – I love this range by bleach london and at the great price of £5, you can’t go wrong. They have a great range of colours too (So Bring on the Mermaid hair). The product was easy to use and smelled great too. If your wanting a brighter colour I advise just using the colour on it’s own, without mixing it with conditioner or Fudge’s whiter shade of pale. I do recommend Bleach Products as I have used their Bleach total bleach kit before on dip dying my hair extensions a while back and was very pleased with the product.
