Festival Outfit Ideas

Haven’t done a fashion post in a while, so thought I would treat you all on this fine day. I have been internet shopping A LOT lately trying to get some inspiration for some events coming up which include my yearly One Direction concert and this year V FESTIVAL!. I so excited to be going to a festival this year after not going to one since 2010! I love music and some of my favourite artist’s are playing this year, so I’m ready to sing my heart out and get my groove on.

One thing I love about festivals is the fact you can dress up in style that you wouldn’t normally. I always find festivals have this retro, vibrant and hippy vibe, not that I dress normally anyway but festivals give you a chance to be loud and bold with the use of fashion.  Prints and bold colours are a must and we are lucky that they are also on trend this year, giving you a wider variation of items to buy! My favourite colour this season is lime and it just so happens that this is the perfect colour for festivals (You definitely won’t struggle to spot me in the crowd). I always find accesories are a must to top any outfit off ,so don’t be afraid to wear hats and layer the jewellery on! Footwear is tricky but luckily i find yu can’t go wrong with a pair of boots to give the outfit and edge but also they are practical in case it chucks it down, add a pair of frilly socks to make them cute!.

Here’s a few items I found that I love and are perfect items to wear to a festival. All the item’s are from high street stores that include Topshop, River Island, New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Office. If you would like to know where a certain items is from just comment and ill find it for you 😀

My Lush Haul

Hellooo

Love lush? Of course you bloody well do. I’m that person who can’t walk past the Lush Shop without buying anything, it’s like the smell hypnotises me to go in… I am a huge fan of their products that most of the time leaves you soft and smelling good enough to eat!

I decided to do a post to share my favourite products with you from www.Lush.co.uk

Here’s my ultimate favourite

CINDERS – Bath Bomb

Cinders bath bomb

Now this smells amazing! If your a fan of fruit smells

and a hint of cinnamon you will love this. I have been buying cinders for years now but unfortunately it is only available at christmas (Sad Face) Hint Lush you need to sort this!. The bath bomb is a small Orange ball with cinnamon leafs and fizzes in your bath to leave a warm scent that the ultimate relaxer. Note that this bath bomb has been known to stain my bath a yellow colour but soon comes off!

Available here – Cinders Bath Bomb

PHOENIX RISING – Bath Bomb

Phoenix Rising

This just looks so cool and has a great sent to go along with it as well, another cinnamon scent! This fizzes in your bath turning it a lovely deep purple colour and it left my skin feeling really moisturised after a good soak in the bath, most likely because it is packed with Shea and Cocoa butter! There was also a lovely gold shimmer too that didn’t stick to my skin making me look like an oscar statue. Love It.

Available here – Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb

GOLDEN EGG – Bath Bomb

Golden Egg

Now This is a new find of mine, the new easter collection has come into store and as soon as I picked it up I was sold. IT SMELLS AMAZING (as does most of the lush stuff but…HEY) Now this is literally a golden egg covered in a gold glitter, so theres my warning (yes this a messy one)  you will be covered in glitter afterwards. This is a bath melt at the start so it makes the bath extremely creamy that adds to the moisturising effect. It then turns into a bath bomb that fizzes and releases a GORGEOUS Honey/Toffee/ Sweet Orange scent. My skin was left glittery and moisturised from the columbian cocoa butter, even though the amazing scent didn’t linger for very long.

Available here – Golden Egg

KARMA BUBBLE BAR – Bubble Bar

Karma Bubble Bar

Now who isn’t a fan of bubbles? Bubble bars are a favourite of mine and this produces LOADS of them! The Karma bubble bar smells very exotic and orangey, the fragrance used is also a perfume so you know it will be good! You crumble this product under the running water and the goodness is released to make fragrant bubbles. This smell lingers on your skin for ages, I always feel like a hippy when I use this. Long live Sweet orange oil, which is soon becoming my favourite.

Available here – Karma Bubble Bar

YUZU AND COCOA – Bubble Bar

YUZU and COCOA

This was the first bubble bar I had ever tried and I have never regretted this purchase.  This is another AMAZING Smell, DO you love jaffa cakes? then this is for you. This jam is packed with cocoa butter and Shea butter and even my beauty fav (coconut oil) which creates a creamy chocolate scent and it is also mixed with citrus oil to reveal a lovely orange scent in the mix and VOILA  you got jaffa cake. This is unbelievably moisturising and gives your skin an instant lift.

Available here – Yuzu and Cocoa bubble bar

WONDER WOOHOO – Bubble Bar

Wonder Woohoo

Another new easter find for me, I do seem to be drawn to a bit of glitter (Guilty) . There seems to be a theme going around this Easter of orange and this is no exception. Packed with mimosa absolute, sandalwood oil and Brazillian orange oil this is what I would like to think Florida would be like if it was well… a bubble bar. It smells exotic and very summery, You do get covered in glitter but the smell makes up for it. I do feel some cocoa butter wouldn’t of gone a miss here though as I was missing the moisturising element after using this,

Available here – Wonder Wahoo

YOU’VE BEEN MANGOED –  Luxury bath melt

You'v been mangoed

If your looking for something extra moisturing and smells delicious this is for you. Packed with an exotic fragrance combined with citrus, cocoa butter and mango oils, just smelling this in the store made my mouth water. Once in the bath the water is transformed into a creamy fruity heaven and your skin feels extremely brightened and refreshed, Wish this product was bigger though!

Available here – You’ve been Mangoed

SOFT COEUR – Massage bar

Soft Coeur

Another sweet orange oil product and packed with cocoa and shea butters! Amazingly moisturising great for people who have dry skin like me, I used this after a bath using the golden egg as a bath bomb and was left smelling like a jaffa cake from all the sweet orange oil and cocoa butter. My skin was left feeling moist and hydrated. I would avoid using the middle brown bit as it smudges on your skin.

Available here – Soft Coeur

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL – Cleanser

let the good times roll

I was given a sample of this by the lovely people of lush and immediately fell in love with it, it smells like toffee popcorn and even contains popcorn! It’s a gentle cleanser that softens and exfoliates your skin. My face was left super soft with a smell lingering of Golden syrup porridge. I only use a bit of this as I mix it with water to make it more creamy, since I’ve started using this my skin has become clearer and my completion has improved tremendously. Lovely.

Queen of Pastel hair Lou Teasdale and DIY Pastel dip dye

Helloo my lovers.

I am a huge fan of pastel colours as of lately after spotting some very lovely photo’s of Lou Teasdale rocking some pastel colours as of late. Lou is the ambassador for fudge urban and just a fabulous Beauty guru so check out her blog here www.Louteasdale.com

Lilac Hair

I may have a mild obsession with the colour lilac … I LOVE IT. After a trip to my hairdresser and having lilac put in my hair it faded quite quickly and I saw Lou’s post about using Fudge’s paintbox colour purple haze and whiter shade of pale, by mixing these two together i would get a great pastel shade.

Image

My Experience – It was very easy to use and mix, remember to use a mixing brush as it is much easier to apply to all of my hair and wrapped it in cling film. After being being left to develop for 20 minutes i then washed it out. My main mistake when using this product was my hair at the time was highlighted blonde, so i still had dark blonde tones in my hair resulting in only platnium blonde being dyed purple. It looked like i had purple highlights in my hair and not so much a pastel colour either. After a few washes however it did fade to a pastel colour. Six weeks later the colour had faded into a pastel blue colour.

Conclusion – Very easy to use but to be used of platinum all over blonde hair and it would look great and it would work even better for dip dye effect on the tips of your hair.. It is a very strong dye as my regular trip tot he hairdresser found after it took several attempts to get rid of the blue tinge to my hair, even with strong bleach.

Peach Dip Dye

After my lilac stage i decided to Lighten my hair and go for Peach dip dye. My hairdresser didi a fabulous job and advised me to buy a dye and fill a bottle half with the colour and half with conditioner to keep my colour topped up, as the pastel colours do fade fast.

My Experience- After spotting another post by the guru that is Lou Teasdale I decided to to try Bleach London super cool colours.

Image

I chose to use the colour Rose and I apply it mixed with Aussie 3 minute Miracle colour matte conditioner  to the ends of my hair and left it on for 5 minutes before washing out. Even though it is a different colour to the peach tips which I started with I do love this colour that i currently have and it is still going strong after 6 weeks by topping up my ends using this dye and because I am mixing it with conditioner it is not a strong dye and has the lovely pastel peachy pink colour.

Bleach London Cool colour in Rose

My Hair at the Moment

Maddie and Myself

Conclusion – I love this range by bleach london and at the great price of £5, you can’t go wrong. They have a great range of colours too (So Bring on the Mermaid hair). The product was easy to use and smelled great too. If your wanting a brighter colour I advise just using the colour on it’s own, without mixing it with conditioner or Fudge’s whiter shade of pale. I do recommend Bleach Products as I have used their Bleach total bleach kit before on dip dying my hair extensions a while back and was very pleased with the product.

Retail Therapy

I am no different than any other woman out there, if I’m feeling down a little bit of retail therapy instantly puts a smile on my face. I thought I would share with you my purchases today.

Image

I was shopping with my friend today who recommended the Make up brand Sleek available from boots, i was impressed by the range and affordable prices and thought i would give it a go!

The Eyeshadow palette range was the most impressive with a number of colour palletes that i had difficulty choosing. I decided in the end to try au natural as this is the colour ranges i would get the most use out of. This palette comes in a sleek black case containing 12 mineral based eyeshadows and comes with a double ended eyeshadow brush and at the low price of £7.99, I consider this a great buy! See images below.

available in most Botts stores and here online http://www.boots.com/en/Sleek-i-Divine-Eyeshadow-Palette-Au-Naturel_1395378/

Next i bought the face contour kit. I have been after a contour palette for a while now and saw the cute compact in the Sleek range and fell in love. They come in three colours Light, medium and Dark. I purchased the Light and this it what it looks like  ( see below) and priced at £6.49 I thought i would give it a try!

After just running out of my foundation I was after a new one and not sure whether I wanted to buy a powder based foundation, after using cream ones for such a long time but with suffering with oily skin, it decided to try this creme to powder based compact foundation. It comes in another cute compact with a mirror and puff. Priced at an average £7.99 i bought the colour Barley it was the lightest shade as trying the others they were all on the orange tinted side and I like to avoid the tangoed look.

And finally my best buy of the day… A NEW PANDORA RING. Im a massive fan of pandora and their collections and a ring is one tot the things i have yet to purchase from Pandora. I was spoilt for choice but settled on the simple pink heart silver ring, which would go lovely with my silver and pink themed pandora bracelet.  At a very reasonalbe £35, I couldn’t resist.

What a load of slime – Snail Facials

So for £50 are you prepared to let snails slime their way over your face for 20 minutes for an instant glow?… Definitely Not. I had to turn up my nose at the article  in ‘The Mirror’ explaining that ‘The trail of mucus which is said to contain highly beneficial proteins, anti-oxidants, and anti-bacteria’… but it also forgets to mention that it most likely contains shit too. I mean Come on…  I for one will not be putting my name down for the treatment.

Yes Mr Snail, I feel the same way.
